“Kacma” – the name comes from Karczma (inn). “Ida do kacmy, przisou z kacmy, je w kacmie” (going to the Kacma, came from the Kacma, is in the Kacma). The name is still used by the older inhabitants today. The young “go to the Maja bar”.
The Karczma – Kacma Korkowa stood until the 20th century at the corner of ul. Stawowa and ul. Wiejska (Dorfstrasse). Around 1880, when the road from Opole to Racibórz was being built, (a descendant of the hereditary village head) built a new Kacma at the crossing of the Drógi Goreckiej and the Lindenstrase, which stood until 1945 (it was destroyed during the Second World War). Today the new house of the Fikus family stands on this spot. Had the Kacma survived the war, Mrs Fikus would be a Kacmourka today.
Before the war people used to say: “podź idziymy do Zeflika na jednego” (come on, let’s go to Zeflik for a drink).
