Fr Stanisław Lakotta

Fr Stanisław Lakotta

Fr Stanisław Lakotta

Stanisław Lakotta is the first person known to the residents of our village who devoted himself to pastoral work. He celebrated his first Mass in the parish church in Chrzumczyce on 28 June 1914. He was a parish priest in a parish near Poznań. According to the family’s account (Mr Alfred Kornek), during the Second World War he was interned in the camp at Dachau, where he had to do physical labour. He worked as a bricklayer’s helper; while working on scaffolding he fell and died of his injuries.
