16.09.2002 during the visit for the consecration of our chapel
His first visit to Folwark came as something of a surprise to us residents. The parish priest had announced on 21.04.2002 that it would take place already “tomorrow”, that is on 22.04.2002. And so it happened.
It was short, but motivating for the builders. When the floors and in part the ceilings had been torn up, we saw before us the enormous amount of work ahead of us. Above all, the main question was how such a small community would cope with the finances. The visit gave even the grumblers the spirit that we all needed so much at that time.
The Bishop, Prof. Dr. habil. of Theology, was born on 18.12.1947 in Zabrze. He was ordained a priest on 30.04.1972 and received his episcopal consecration on 06.01.1993. He is an auxiliary bishop of our diocese, a member of the College of Consultors, censor of religious publications, a member of the diocesan Priests’ Council and of the diocesan Pastoral Council, and an independent research staff member of the Faculty of Theology of the University of Opole in the field of church history.
