Fr Dr Marcin Worbs
Fr Marcin Worbs was born in Opole on 7 May 1963. He was ordained a priest on 20 June 1987. He holds a master’s degree in theology and a doctorate in Germanic philology. He has a brother, Krystian, who is also a priest in the diocese of Gliwice. Father Marcin, as we call him, has been almost officially connected with our chapel and the parish church since 1995. He is present at every important celebration, and Holy Masses in German are his domain. He is the author of a monograph – a religious portrait of the Silesian poet Joseph von Eichendorff – entitled “Und meine Seele spannte weit ihre Fluegel aus” (the result of his doctoral work), University of Opole Press, Opole 1996.
Fr Dr Marcin Worbs is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Opole and also serves as Vice-Dean for student affairs and international cooperation.
